an eventful trip up north

i'm back, people! that is, after 7 hours on the road :/

went up ipoh with a bunch of friends from the last iBridge camp, and realised that half of the world probably went up ipoh as well. met up with many other ex-campers, and for me, my uni friends as well.

our excellent ipoh hosts took us to some of the more popular eating places ipoh has to offer. but more often than not, they were already filled with people from the rest of the world.

we also went up hiking bkt kledang. but with only 4 hours of sleep the night before, some of us could only manage to go up halfway. so half of the group went all the way up to the peak, while the other half (like me hehe) went down and had fun splashing water at the waterfall. :D

since ipoh is famed for its makan places, we spent most of the time eating (and waiting for people to finish eating). at one of our eating binges, we managed to catch michelle yeoh at this food court opposite woolley's. i think we got too excited that a celebrity like her would actually dine at a food court, because the rest of the people didn't seem to make such a big fuss. and we really wanted to take a photo with her and get her to sign an autograph for us, but in the end we decided not to invade her privacy :p

we also spent loads of time playing mafia, and i must say it was pretty addictive! been hearing so much about it since last year's camp, and when i finally got the chance to play it, i must say i enjoyed it lots!

so it was wif a bit of sadness that we had to say goodbye to ipoh, the food and not to forget, our hospitable hosts who made sure we were well fed & comfy throughout the whole stay.

and yes, the journey back home took us 7 hours! we had to weave in and out of the highway back to the trunk roads in a bid to escape the traffic. well, minus the toilet break, dinner at bidor's famed duck noodles and supper at rawang, it was about 6 hours altogether. having said that, it was a memorable trip nonetheless. to all the people involved, a big thank you for an eventful cny ;)
